Family Circle Cup

CHARLESTON, SC – April 9, 2012 – Every spring, Family Circle Magazine sponsors one of the richest and most traditional women’s professional tennis event – The Family Circle Cup.  Taking place on Daniel Island just north of Charleston, SC, it is more than just a 30+ year old tennis tournament; it is a festival with world class tennis.  The festival activities range include all age groups from face painting, magicians, jump castles, video analysis of your tennis game, biomimetic line of tennis racquets for demonstration and purchase, tennis boutiques and vendors, happy hour, live entertainment and local school administrators battle it out for a school spirit contest. 

Over ninety players compete for a piece of the large prize – over $700,000.  This premier event has hosted many famous tennis players over the years and has become a coveted trophy for the women.

Nine days of intense play lead up to the final round on April 8th where Serena Williams defeated Lucie Safarova. Williams took home the 2012 Family Cup trophy as her 40th WTA title.

This is the 9th year in a row that Proteus On-Demand Facilities has supplied the Family Circle Cup with various temporary structures to accommodate the many fans that come to watch world class tennis.

Many of these structures were equipped with cassette floor, double push bar glass doors, smoked glass window panels, safety packages and rain gutters.
