Case Study: JW Marriott Pennsylvania Ave.

Short Term Lease:

Unique footprints, tight timelines, traffic regulations, and 100 ton cranes are just a few of the logistical challenges that are overcome by Proteus On-Demand Facilities to create event space at the JW Marriott Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C..  Every four years we set out to create the premiere viewing area of the Presidential Inauguration Parade on the 7th and 12th floor terraces of the JW Marriott.

The 12th floor terrace is 300 feet long and 22 feet wide with an irregular shaped area at one end.  The 7th floor terrace is 100 feet long and 22 feet wide.  The project begins with several tractor trailer loads of material that are craned up to the terraces from Pennsylvania Avenue.  On the 12th floor terrace we connect seventeen Chalet structures (ea. 400 sq. ft.) which are combined with one custom corner piece to create a total of 7,200 square feet of premium event space.  On the 7th floor terrace we connect eight Chalet structures (ea. 400 sq. ft.) to create a total of 3,200 square feet of premium event space.

The Chalets fit together seamlessly with built-in guttering.  Raised sub-floors with plush carpeting, smoked safety glass panels, custom interior liner, crystal chandeliers, custom staging, and climate control systems ensure that this is a prestigious venue for an historic occasion.
